FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Emory & Henry kept their winning streak alive with a 28-3 victory over the Methodist Monarchs.

Methodist (1-2) opened up with a six minute drive into the Wasps' territory. Senior quarterback Erik Teague picked up two first downs on passes to Brian Hopkins and Chris Peoples before scrambling for a first down of his own at the Emory & Henry 15-yard line. The Wasps' defense held off a touchdown, but Methodist sophomore Tyler Mosko converted the 32-yard field goal to give the Monarchs the 3-0 lead.

The Methodist defense did not allow a first down on Emory & Henry's (4-0) first possession, but after an interception from Teauge, the Wasps' Caleb Jennings broke through for a 29-yard touchdown to give Emory & Henry the lead. The extra point put the Wasps ahead 7-3.

The Monarchs had a chance to move within one with another field goal, but the kick missed just wide, giving the ball back to Emory & Henry just before the end of the first quarter. The Wasps took over with 6:44 to go in the half and put together a 64-yard drive for Jennings to punch another one in at the one-yard line. Matt Turchin's kick gave Emory & Henry the 14-3 lead at halftime.

Emory & Henry started the second half with another big possession. Quarterback Drew Piscopo found Brian Bush for a 26-yard touchdown pass to complete the three minute drive. The Monarchs moved deep into Wasp territory on two different occasions in the third quarter, but came up short on fourth down for Emory & Henry to hold the 21-3 lead going into the fourth.

Methodist took over with 13:31 to go in the fourth quarter and drove into the red-zone, but a big stop from Emory & Henry gave the ball back to the Wasps on downs. The Monarchs' defense forced another punt and Methodist took over on the Emory & Henry 26-yard line. Unable to convert, the Wasps took over on downs and Javon Lucas took two drives for 65-yard to score the Wasps' fourth touchdown of the day.
