LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Methodist volleyball team earned a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-21) win over Randolph College on Friday night.
The first set was tied early at seven and 10 before Methodist built a 19-13 lead. Randolph closed the lead to four on two different occasions, but the Monarchs earned the 25-19 win on a block from
Morgan Hauck and
Lauren Bramble.
The Monarchs came out strong in the second set to take the 19-9 lead. The WildCats scored five straight points late, but Methodist held on for the 25-18 win. Methodist opened the third set with an 11-3 advantage with a kill from
Kayci Miller. Randolph closed the lead to 22-20 late, but Methodist finished with the 25-21 victory to earn the match win.
Jalesty Washington led the team with 15 kills while Bramble added eight. Miller finished with 29 assists.
Hillary McPhatter paced the Monarchs with 10 digs and
Rachel Evans added eight.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Saturday at Randolph against Regis and Southern Virginia.
