RALEIGH, N.C. - Methodist took a 7-0 lead at halftime and cruised to the 10-1 win over Peace College to win their third conference match of the season.
Methodist's
Danielle Minichello gave Methodist the 1-0 lead just 3:03 into the game after a pass from
Marissa Kuzbyt Kuzbyt assisted
Jillian Reed for the second goal of the game just 1:30 later. Reed scored her second goal of the game while
Lisa Paschal, and
Christine Ellington added goals for the Monarchs to go ahead 5-0 lead.
Maeve Harper assisted
Brooke Corley for a breakaway goal before Harper scored one of her own just before halftime for the 7-0 lead at the break.
Kuzbyt assisted Minichello again early in the second half off of a corner kick before Peace countered with a goal in the 57th minute. Minichello and Corley finished the scoring for Methodist to take the 10-1 win.
Kasey Nichols and
Sara Altman combined in goal for Methodist with Altman making four saves. Daisy Vasilko and Sherry Revels combined for 11 saves for Peace.
Methodist will be back in action on Wednesday when they host St. Andrews at 4 p.m. in a rescheduled game from earlier this season.
