EMORY, Va. - The Methodist women's basketball team finished the Emory & Henry Tip-Off Classic with a 55-43 win over Lynchburg College on Sunday.

The Monarchs opened the game with a basket from Dawn Sanderson and other than a brief 4-3 lead by the Hornets, Methodist led nearly the entire game. The Monarchs built a 26-17 lead at halftime and led by as many as 15 points on baskets from #T.T. Taylor and Brianna Robinson# as they cruised to the 55-43 win.

Methodist sophomore Iesha Hayes paced the team with 15 points while Sanderson and Jackie Lyles added 10 points a piece. Taylor was just short of the double-double with nine points and eight boards.

Methodist will be back in action on Saturday when they host Maryville College at  8 p.m.
