MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Methodist volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over LaGrange (25-19, 25-21, 25-22) before falling to Covenant 1-3 (22-25, 21-25, 25-21, 20-25).

Stephanie Wood led Methodist to the victory over LaGrange with a team-high seven kills. Hillary McPhatter led Methodist with 12 digs, while Ryanne Greer and Lauren Bramble chipped in 10 apiece. Covington led LaGrange with eight kills and Crystal Colvin led all players with 17 digs.

Covenant won the first two sets of the second match before Methodist came back with a 25-21 win in the third set. McPhatter and Bramble picked up 11 kills each for Methodist.

Methodist setter Kayci Miller earned All-Tournament honors for her efforts averaging nearly six assists per set.

The Monarchs will host Greensboro on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the first USA South Athletic Conference match of the season.
