EMORY, Va. - Emory & Henry jumped out to the early lead and built the 35-6 halftime lead before finishing with the 49-6 win over the Monarchs on Saturday.

Emory & Henry's Caleb Jennings dominated the first possession as he earned all 61 yards with 52 yards rushing and a nine-yard reception during the touchdown drive. Jennings scored the first touchdown with a three-yard run. The Wasps went ahead 7-0 on Matt Turchin's extra point.

Jennings had a 59-yard punt return to set up the Wasps deep in Methodist territory on the 13-yard line. Quarterback Dustin Beck connected with William Pearl and Turchin's kick put the Wasps up 14-0.

Methodist earned a first down on their second possession when quarterback Travis Murphy found Jason Talbert for a 20-yard catch. The Monarchs were forced to punt but regained possession late in the first quarter on their own 44-yard line. Corey McGuire earned a first down after rushing for 11-yards on two attempts. Methodist earned two additional first downs before the quarter ended with the Monarchs on the Wasps' two yard line. John Flanagan picked up a yard before Murphy pushed through for the final yard and the touchdown with 13:31 to play in the half. Tyler Mosko's kick was blocked leaving the Monarchs trailing 14-6.

Emory & Henry took advantage of good field position on the ensuing kickoff and Jennings scored on a 45-yard touchdown run to extend their lead to 21-6. The Wasps took over with two more touchdowns in the quarter to hold the 35-6 lead at halftime.

Emory & Henry added a touchdown in the third quarter while the Methodist offense stalled. Murphy drove the Monarchs to the Wasps' 39-yard line and Methodist called a timeout with 6:26 to play in the quarter, but Murphy's next pass was intercepted. The Wasps scored again in the fourth quarter to finish with the 49-6 win and keep their undefeated record this season.
