FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist used a 14-point halftime lead to cruise to the 71-51 victory over Meredith College on Wednesday.
Methodist took the 15-5 lead midway through the first half on a layup by
Dawn Sanderson.
Becca Himes scored back-to-back layups to maintain the 10 point advantage with 6:13 remaining in the half. The Monarchs led by as many as 17 points before taking a 35-21 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Monarchs came out strong in the second half and led by as many as 26 points. Meredith battled back to cut the lead, but never moved within less than 11 as Methodist finished with the 71-51 victory.
#T.T. Taylor
led the team with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Jordan Tyson# added nine points.
Megan Rahn paced the Angels with 28 points and 14 rebounds.
Methodist will take the road on Friday to take on Greensboro College at 5:30 p.m.
