Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Methodist women's soccer team took on then top seeded Greensboro College Friday afternoon in the final game of conference play this season and edged the Pride 3-2 in overtime.

The Monarchs were probably considered the underdog in the match, but took control right off the bat with a goal in the third minute after Jillian Reed's cross found Jessie Oder at the top of the 18-yard box for a goal. Methodist maintained a 1-0 lead at halftime, but the Pride tied the game in the 72nd minute with a long shot from Meredith Kelly. Lisa Paschal put the Monarchs back up on top just three minutes later and the Monarchs looked to take the 2-1 win before the Pride snuck in another tying goal just 22 seconds before the final whistle.

Methodist battled through overtime with Danielle MInichello sending a through ball to Kristin Habig for the game-winning goal. It was Habig's third game-winning goal of the season and second in overtime.

Greensboro out shot the Monarchs 23-13, but Methodist goalkeeper Sara Altman made 11 saves. Shireen Unvala had seven stops for the Pride.

Methodist has locked up the sixth seed in the USA South standings, but with a number of games still to be played tonight and tomorrow, their first round opponent is yet to be decided. They will travel to the No. 3 seed for the first round Tuesday Nov. 1. Final seeding will be announced Saturday.

In the meantime, the Monarchs will host their regular season finale on Saturday against Barton College at 2:30 p.m.
