SALEM, Va. - The Methodist volleyball team started the day with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-18) win over Roanoke before dropping a four-set match to Washington and Lee (16-25, 25-15, 18-25, 14-25).
The Monarchs made quick work of Roanoke winning in three straight sets. In the final match of the day, Methodist dropped the first set to the Generals but came back and tied the match at one with a 25-15 win in the second set. Washington and Lee battled back to win the next two sets for the match win.
Jalesty Washington led the team with 12 kills while
Hayley Williams added six.
Kayci Miller finished with 30 assists and 12 digs while
Rachel Evans paced the Monarchs with 13 digs.
The Monarchs will continue at the Maroon Invitational on Saturday with matches against Hollins and Randolph.
