KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Methodist softball opened the Rebel Games with a split after dropping a 7-3 game to Webster and coming back for a 2-0 victory over Muskingum.
Meghan Lokey pitched a complete game for Webster to earn her second win of the season. The Monarchs lost 7-3 in the first game of the day.
The Monarchs battled back and scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings over Muskingum to earn the win.
Jordan Adams led off the fifth with a single and stole second before advancing to third on a wild pitch. Adams scored what would be the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly from
Katie Byrd.
Marcy McKee led off the sixth reaching on an error and
Megan Ondrey came on to pinch run.
Rachel Chapman doubled and Ondrey went onto score on another Muskingum error to give Methodist the 2-0 lead. The Monarcsh loaded the bases, but Muskingum got out of the inning.
Alex Bass pitched the complete game shutout giving up just three hits with six strikeouts including the final out to preserve the 2-0 win.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Monday at the Rebel Games when they take on Misericordia and Geneva.
Statistics will be delayed this week while the Methodist softball team is competing at the Rebel Games.
