Monarchs Earn Two Wins

Late heroics lift Methodist softball over Misericordia and Geneva

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Methodist softball team picked up two wins on Monday including a 3-2 win in extra innings over Misericordia and a 7-5 win over Geneva.

The Monarchs took the early 2-0 lead over Misericordia in the first game of the day, but the Cougars rallied to tie the game in the fifth inning. After two scoreless innings, the two teams went to extra innings, with Methodist scoring first in the eighth inning for the 3-2 win. Alex Bass earned the win and Misericordia's Cromley took the loss.

In game two, Geneva held the 5-3 lead after five innings. The Monarchs tied the game in the sixth inning and added two runs in the seventh to earn the 7-5 win. Bass picked up her second win of the day. Geneva's Dilanardo took the loss. 

The Monarchs will take on Trine and Mount Union on Tuesday in the third day of the Rebel Games.
