KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Methodist softball team dropped two tough games on Tuesday to Trine and Mount Union.
In the first game of the day, Trine scored two runs in the second inning and added a third run in the third inning before tacking on a fourth run in the fifth inning. The Monarchs got on the board with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but could not make up the difference, falling 4-1. Gasco took the win for Trine while
Candace Piner picked up the loss for Methodist.
Mount Union scored two quick runs in the first inning, but Methodist tallied a run in the bottom of the inning. The Raiders added a run in the second, but the Monarchs cut the lead to 3-2 with a run in the bottom of the third. Mount Union finished with two runs in the fifth to earn the 5-2 win. The Monarchs put runners in scoring position, but came up short on the scoreboard. Willis earned the win while
Alex Bass took the loss.
The Monarchs are off on Wednesday before taking on Catholic and Aurora on Thursday.
