Women's Soccer Bounces Back With 3-2 Win

Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Methodist women's soccer team (2-3) bounced back from a loss on Saturday to earn a 3-2 win over Eastern Mennonite University.

Brooke Corley gave Methodist the 1-0 lead in the 21st minute, but the Royals tied the game eight minutes later. The score was still even at halftime. Lisa Paschal helped the Monarchs regain the lead with a goal in the 57th minute, but Eastern Mennonite came back to tie the game again with less than 10 minutes to play. Methodist upped the pressure in the final minutes before Jillian Reed assisted Kristin Habig on the game-winning goal with just 46 seconds remaining on the clock. The Monarchs prevailed 3-2 for the win.

Sara Altman and Sarah Hayden split time in goal combining for three saves for Methodist. Jenni Beck had eight saves for Eastern Mennonite.

The Monarchs will be back in action on Friday when they host Berry at 5 p.m.
