Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Methodist trailed for less than two minutes in the entire game on Wednesday as they cruised to the 66-44 win over Peace College.
The Pacers (1-12, 0-6) scored the first basket of the game, but Methodist's
Emily Huneycutt put the Monarchs on the board with a 3-pointer at the other end. Methodist (7-6, 4-2) put together a 9-0 run midway through the half to build the 15-point advantage with 6:54 left in the first half.
Chaunelle Yokley gave the Monarchs their largest lead of the half at 32-15 and Methodist took a 34-18 lead at the break.
Peace came out strong in the second half with two quick baskets, but Methodist head coach
DeeDee Jarman called a timeout and got the Monarchs back on track. Methodist led by as many as 29 points with a basket by
Courtney Woods with 5:47 on the clock. Eleven players scored for the Monarchs as they cruised to the 66-44 victory.
T.T. Taylor led the team with 12 points while
Jackie Lyles had eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
Jordan Tyson scored nine points and
Emily Huneycutt and
Iesha Hayes added eight apiece.
Crystal Alston scored 13 points for Peace while Mia Sloan added 11.
Methodist will be back in action on Saturday when they host Ferrum College at 2 p.m.
