Methodist Volleyball Earns a Pair of 3-0 Wins

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Methodist's volleyball team improved to 15-9 on the season and evened its record at 4-4 in the USA South with a pair of 3-0 sweeps over Ferrum and Peace on Saturday afternoon at the Hermann Center.

Methodist bested the Panthers 25-16, 26-24, 25-21 and then bounced Peace 25-17, 25-12, 25-16 to post their third sweep in as many matches.

In the win over Ferrum, Allison Graves and Hayley Williams led the Monarchs with 10 kills apiece and the duo hit a combined .304 for the match. Risa Smith added seven kills and Brittany McCoy chipped in six. Kendra Krupp registered 34 assists.

Defensively, Karly Klimas led the way with 17 digs and Smith contributed 16. Williams added five blocks and Stephanie Wood totaled four blocks, including three solo efforts.

Graves once again led the way in the sweep of Peace. She posted a match-high 11 kills and added five digs and three blocks. Wood totaled eight kills and four blocks. Smith contributed 13 digs, Ryanne Greer added 12 and Klimas contributed 10. Krupp once again directed the offense, totaling 23 assists.

Methodist is back on the court on Wednesday when it hosts Averett at 7:00 pm in its final home match of the season.
