Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist women's soccer team knocked off Chowan, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Monarch Soccerplex.
The Monarchs improved to 3-5-0 on the season with the shutout win, their second of the season, while the Hawks remained winless on the year (0-7-0).

Kristin Habig opened the scoring late in the first half when the scored on a full volley following a corner kick from sophomore
Jessie Oder at the 38:29 mark.
The score remained 1-0 in favor of Methodist for the first 15 minutes of the second half until sophomore Cassandra Walter netted an unassisted goal at the 60:31 mark to push the MU lead to 2-0.
The Monarch defense limited Chowan to just five shots the entire game, including just one on goal. Conversely, Methodist launched 29 shots (13 on goal) in all, forcing Chowan's Jennifer into making 11 saves in 90:00 of action. Junior
Sarah Hayden started in goal for the Monarchs and played the opening 45:00. Freshman
Taylor Ross played the final 45:00 and made one save.
Methodist returns to action on Saturday as it travels to Averett for a 1:00 pm contest.
