Brooke Corley at the 86:48 mark broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Monarchs (1-2) to their first win of the season.
The first half saw MU withstand an aggressive Quaker offensive surge. Guilford outshot the Monarchs, 9-2, in the opening 45 minutes. However, MU freshman goalkeeper

Guilford scored first in the final period, taking a 1-0 lead when Sarah Levitt took a pass from Hannah Schlitz and finally got a ball past Ross at the 61:00 minute mark before Methodist came back to knot the contest at 1-1 as junior
Lisa Paschal netted an unassisted goal at the 70:14 mark.
The Monarchs showcased a much more consistent offensive attack in the second half, outshooting the Quakers 11-6 in period, while also drawing all three of their corner kicks in the final half.
Cori Karoly made five saves in goal for the Quakers, who fell to 0-3 with the loss.
The Monarchs return to the pitch on Saturday, travelling to St. Mary's (Md.) for a 12:00 pm contest.
