Box Score 2 FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Hosting a four-match event, Methodist lost its two matches to Maryville, 3-0, and 3-1 versus Covenant on Saturday at the Riddle Center.

To open the day's action, MU (12-16, 7-9 USA South) squared off with Maryville (18-15, 14-0 USA South) in the morning and fell, 25-19, 25-13 25-22, and closed out the day with a four-set defeat against Covenant (16-10, 9-5 USA South), 18-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-20.

In the matchup with Maryville,
Emily Hester paced the Monarchs with 14 assists, and
Emily Krochmal totaled a match-high 14 kills to go along with seven digs. Maryville's Kelsey Handel had 12 kills, and Lauren Bonee (15) and Krisit Bowlin (10) each passed out double-digit assists.

To round out the day's four USA South matches, MU played Covenant, winning the opening set before falling in four.

Risa Smith had a team-high 23 assists along with 12 digs, and
Allison Graves added 15 kills and 14 digs. Hester (20) again reached double-digit assists, and Krochmal pitched in 12 kills and 11 digs. Covenant's Stephanie Kirkpatrick led all players with 45 assists and 15 digs. Chelsea VanDyk finished with 17 kills.

Before the Covenant match, the Monarchs recognized their two seniors, Graves and Smith, as they played in their final home game.

Only three regular-season matchups remain for the Monarchs, the next one falling on Wednesday at N.C. Wesleyan. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
