Box Score MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- The Methodist volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Averett in the quarterfinal round of the USA South Tournament on Friday afternoon at Stone Hall on the campus of Patrick Henry Community College.

The Monarchs, seeded fourth in the North Division fell to the No. 2 seed out of the North Division, 25-14, 25-22, 25-27, 25-16. Methodist concludes its season at 14-18 overall, while the Cougars improve to 26-8 on the year and will take on Covenant in Saturday's semifinals.

MU was led by
Allison Graves' double-double of 10 kills and 11 digs.
Emily Krochmal added eight kills and a pair of service aces, and
Latina Bailey chipped in six kills. Defensively,
Ryanne Greer led MU with 13 digs and
Karly Klimas added 10.
Risa Smith directed the offense and racked up 24 assists to go with seven digs.

For Averett, Sarah and Allison Sparks led the way with 21 and 20 kills, respectively. Nicole Barringer had 46 assists and four block assists. Katelyn Holley notched a match-high 17 digs and Lindsey Boles added 10. Lisa Santos had three service aces.

Methodist has now concluded its 2013 season.
