DEMOREST, Ga. -- The Methodist women's soccer team winning streak came to an end on Saturday afternoon as fellow USA South member Piedmont College topped the Monarchs, 1-0.

With the loss, Methodist now holds an overall record of 7-5 and a 5-2 record in league play while Piedmont advances to 13-1 on the overall season and 7-1 in USA South play.

PC tallied the lone score of the match in the 17th minute as Samantha Ishee converted a feed from Cassidy Reich.

The Monarchs and the Lions were neck-and-neck offensively, both recording 14 shots, but Piedmont held the edge in shots on frame, 8-4.

Despite making a season-high seven saves, MU starting goalkeeper,
Taylor Ross, was handed the loss after 90 minutes in goal. Piedmont's Michaela Gardner grabbed the win, making four saves.

The Monarchs will travel to Raleigh, N.C. on Wednesday to compete against Meredith College at 6:00 pm.
