LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. — The Methodist volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-1 loss to Maryville in the quarterfinal round of the USA South Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon at Covenant College.
The Monarchs, seeded third in the North, wrap up the season with a final record of 20-10 following the 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 25-15 loss to the South's No. 2 seed.
Ashley Beardsley led the Monarchs with 16 kills, and Brittany Ter Meer added 10 kills to go with five blocks. Cassidy Hayes chipped in seven kills and totaled six blocks on the day. Maggie Harris posted 32 assists and completed a double-double with 12 digs.
Chyenne Pump led the defense with 20 digs, and Karly Klimas added 18. Jordan Tew had 15 digs.
Maryville was led by Madison Coker's 14 kills and six blocks. Sophia del Campo had 11 kills and 27 digs, and Julia Vineyard added nine kills. Taylor Youell and Ciara Adams split the setting duties and notched 22 and 18 assists, respectively. Yasmeen Chan totaled 15 digs, Adams had 14, and Stephanie Gleason added 11.
The Scots will now move on to Saturday's semifinal round.
