MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Methodist's softball team earned its second come-from-behind win of the day with a 4-3 win in eight innings over Iowa Wesleyan on Tuesday at Grant Park.

The Monarchs (5-5) trailed 2-0 in the fourth, and 3-2 in the eight before pulling out the win.

After falling behind 2-0 on Haleigh Cowan's RBI single in the fourth inning,
Allyson Aycock made it a 2-1 game in the bottom of the frame with a single to left that scored
Kristen Bailly. MU tied the game 2-2 in the fifth as
Kelsey Harrington's bunt single brought in
Heather Williams.

In the top of the eighth inning, Cowan again gave Iowa Wesleyan the lead (3-2) with another run-scoring single.

In the bottom of the inning, Williams' single to left tied the game at 3-3, and Harrington provided the game-winning run with a double to center to score Williams with the game-winning run.

The rally made a winner of
Nicole Heinrich, who pitched all 8.0 innings and allowed three runs (1 ER) on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Stephanie Tillman was tagged with the loss. She gave up four runs (2 ER) on 10 hits and five walks with three strikeouts in 7.1 innings.

Harrington finished 2-for-5 with a pair of runs driven in.
Sarah Stapleton was 4-for-5, and Aycock was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Cowan and Andrea Bury each had two base hits for Iowa Wesleyan. Samantha Shepard drew three walks.

The Monarchs are back in action on Thursday when they host Averett in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 pm.
