Cassie Walter had 10 points on seven goals and three assists and the Methodist women's lacrosse team built a 9-1 lead at halftime en route to a 19-7 win at Huntingdon on Saturday afternoon.

Walter scored five of her goals, including the first two of the game, during MU's decisive first period. She opened the scoring just under three minutes into the contest for an early 1-0 lead. She made it 2-0 in favor of the Green and Gold at the 21:57 mark, and
Zhane' Ruffin scored off a feed from
Emily Brennen at 20:35 for a 3-0 advantage.

The Hawks's Jamie Reschke scored unassisted to make it 3-1 at 16:43, but the Monarchs closed the first stanza with six unanswered tallies for an eight-goal edge at the break. Walter scored a pair of goals sandwiched around
Maddi Ronelli's first of the game for a 6-1 by the 11:10 mark, and Ronelli made it 7-1 when she took a pass from Walter and found the back of the cage at 8:43.

Walter scored off a feed from
Hope Motahari at 5:37 for an 8-1 lead, and with 12 seconds left in the first half, Walter returned the favor to Motahari for the 9-1 lead.

The Hawks scored three of the first four goals of the second half to get as close as 10-4 with 22:19 to play, but MU clinched the game with a 7-0 run, including two more goals from Walter, for a 17-4 advantage with 9:59 to play.

Methodist outshot Huntingdon, 28-16, picked up 25 ground balls to 21 for HC, and won the draw control battle, 16-12.
Emily Ewin made six saves in the cage for MU to pick up the win, and Victoria Krupa took the loss while also making six saves.

Brennen finished with three goals and two assists, Motahari had three goals and an assist, and Ronelli added two goals with on assist. Motahari had a game-high six ground balls, and Ronelli, Walter and
Bianca Terenzi each had four. Terenzi and Walter both caused three turnovers, and Motahari, Ronelli, and
Sareena Coleman all had four draw controls.

Shannen O'Leary led Huntingdon with two goals and an assist, and Jen Price had a goal and an assist. Price also had five ground balls, and Reschke added three draw controls.
