MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Despite having an equal offensive outing, the Methodist women's soccer team fell to Maryville, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams recorded six shots on frame, and Methodist (4-2, 1-1 USAS) outshot the host Scots (3-3, 1-1 USAS) by one, 11-10.

After 70 minutes of scoreless play, Maryville tallied the lone goal of the match at the 70:29 mark as Natasha Enrique took a feed from Sierra Siegel and converted, giving the Scots a 1-0 lead and the eventual victory.

Methodist's goalkeeper,
Taylor Ross, was handed the loss after all 90 minutes in goal, making five saves. Mandy Marshall earned the win for the Scots after making six saves over all 90 minutes.

The Monarchs continue on the road for their next match, a non-conference matchup with Salem College on Thursday at 4:00 pm.
