WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Salem's Maddie Crumpton scored a goal and added an assist to give Salem a 2-1 win over Methodist on Thursday.
Â
Crumpton scored in the 27th minute off of an assist by Jordan Lanier to give Salem a 1-0 lead at the break. Just two minutes into the second half Salem extended its lead to 2-0.
Â
Methodist got a goal back in the 70th minute off of a free kick by
Julianne LoGrasso to trim the MU deficit to one, and 10 minutes later Salem had a player sent off for her second yellow card.
Â
However, the Salem defense held off Methodist over the last 10 minutes for the win.
