FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist women's lacrosse team fell, 14-4, to Greensboro on Wednesday afternoon at Monarch Stadium.

Methodist (6-5, 3-2 USA South) took a 2-1 lead early in the contest, before the Pride (8-3, 3-1 USA South) seized control of the game with a 6-0 run to assume a 7-2 lead with 10:31 left in the first half.

Kaelyn Holland and
Sareena Coleman scored roughly three minutes apart to stake the Monarchs to a 2-1 lead by the 22:30 mark of the first half. Christina SanGiacomo tied the game at 2-2 a minute later and GC took the lead for good at 16:46 on Alexa Besch's goal. Natalie Richey followed with back-to-back tallies for a 5-2 lead, and 12 seconds after her second goal, Ashlynn Parks scooped up a draw control and scored on a fast break for a 6-2 lead.

Renee Burt stopped the Greensboro run with an unassisted tally at the 9:02 mark, but two goals to close out the first half and two more to open the first half by Greensboro effectively clinched the game.

The Pride outshot MU, 31-15, including 26-9 on cage.
Jannelle Gant made 12 saves in goal for Methodist. MU also turned the ball over 19 times to Greensboro's eight.

Coleman led MU with two goals and added two ground balls. Holland and
Yasmin Martin also had two ground balls and
Emily Brennen added a pair of draw controls.

The Monarchs play host to Elmhurst on Friday at 12:00 pm.
