An RBI single in the first by Kristen Bailly plated Williams for a 1-0 lead before MU tallied three runs in the second to go ahead, 4-0. With one out, Savannah Dunn reached on an error by the Panthers and a sacrifice bunt by Harrington pushed her to second. An RBI-triple down the right-field line by Williams scored Dunn before High singled to shortstop to bring home Williams. An RBI-double by Bailly plated High for the last run of the inning.

Ferrum evened things out, 4-4, in the top of the third inning, scoring on RBI-singles by Aiyana Lew, Miyana Ross, Cheyenne Strickland and Coffin.

The Monarchs took back the lead, 6-4 in the bottom of the fourth, tallying two runs on a Panther error and an RBI-single by Faircloth.

With two outs on the board for Ferrum in the top of the seventh, an RBI single by Harris brought the Panthers within one, 6-5, before Coffin sent a three-run homer over the left field wall to giver Ferrum their first lead of the game, 8-6, and the eventual win.

Williams finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored and Bailly was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Alanna Anderson and Faircloth were both 2-for-3 and Faircloth tallied one RBI.
