Cassidy Hayes averaged over 11 kills per match and was named to the All-Tournament team at the Seahawk Invitational, but the Methodist volleyball team fell to William Peace and St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon.

The Monarchs (4-9), opened play with a hard-fought 3-0 loss to the Pacers. WPU won the first set, 25-23, then eked out the second set, 27-25, before pulling away in the third and final set, 25-11. In a 3-1 loss to St. Mary's, the Monarchs fell 25-13, 25-16, 13-25, 25-22.

Hayes led MU with 11 kills in the loss to William Peace, the only MU player to reach double digits in kills.
Brittany Ter Meer chipped in nine kills and added five blocks.
Maggie Harris totaled 27 assists to go with an ace and seven digs.
Autumn Elder had a team-best 13 digs and
Annabelle Ronelli had 10 digs and an ace.

Hayes came up with 12 kills and three blocks against St. Mary's, while
Jamie Jones had 11 kills and a pair of blocks. Ter Meer had eight kills and chipped in three blocks as well. Harris handed out 35 assists, and Ronelli totaled 16 digs to lead the Monarchs.
Kaitlyn Rush and Elder had 11 and 10 digs, respectively.

The Seahawks were led by Alli Graf's 25 kills and Marissa Dangler's 18 digs. Mia Griffiths contributed 37 assists and four aces in the win.

Methodist next plays on Friday when they open a USA South quad match at Salem against the host Spirits beginning at 1:00 pm.
