RALEIGH, N.C. -- Methodist dropped a pair of USA South Volleyball matches on Saturday afternoon at William Peace.

Methodist (12-10, 5-6 USA South) lost to league-leading Averett, 3-1, before the host Pacers took a 3-2 win in the final match of the day. Set scores in the loss to Averett were 19-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-15, while WPU won 25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 24-26 and 15-12 in the final set.

Cassidy Hayes paced MU with 11 kills in the loss to Averett. She was the only MU player in double figures
Brittany Ter Meer had nine kills, and
Ashley Beardsley added eight. Ter Meer also had five total blocks
Maggie Harris had 33 assists,
Annabelle Ronelli added 14 digs, while
Megan Andrews contributed nine.

Hannah Shields had a double-double of 19 kills and 10 digs to lead the Cougars. Brianna Williams added 11 kills and four blocks. McKenzie Miller and Keenan Marks had 18 and 17 assists, respectively.

Against the Pacers, Hayes led the offense with 16 kills and added five block assists. Ter Meer had 14 kills and six block assists. Beardsley chipped in eight kills, seven digs and a pair of blocks. Four different Monarchs had at least 10 digs, led by Ronelli's 17. Harris had 15, to go with 45 assist and four blocks, and
Megan Andrews and
Chyenne Pump added 14 and 11 digs, respectively.

Lindsay Alford and Brienna Laskowski each had 16 kills for the Pacers, and Sha'Nice Frazier added 11. Liana Solomon added 49 assists with 18 digs, and Carson Williams posted 28 digs.
