GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Methodist baseball team dropped a 4-2 decision at Greensboro in USA South action as it wrapped up its weekend series on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 11-9 on the season and 3-3 in league play. Meanwhile, the Pride move to 14-7 overall behind a 3-3 mark in conference action.

The scoring started in the bottom of the third when the Pride scored on consecutive doubles to gain a 2-0 lead. The Monarchs cut the lead in half in top of the fourth.
Tucker Criswell led off with a double to left-center field before moving to third on a single by
Alex Kachler.
Pete Wildeboer drove in the first run despite hitting into a double play, 2-1. GC tallied on another run in the following half inning after scoring on a wild pitch, 3-1, and in the sixth inning on a ground out, 4-1.

MU cut into the deficit in the seventh after Wildeboer lined a lead-off triple to right field.
Davis Cass drew a walk to put runners on the corners.
Kevin Williams stepped to the plate as a pinch hitter and hit a sacrifice fly to center that allowed Wildeboer to cross home plate, 4-2.

Tyler Hardee (2-1) started the game for the Green and Gold and yielded four runs (earned) on 10 hits with five strikeouts.
Noah Dawson pitched a scoreless eighth inning, allowing one base runner. Willis Booth (3-1) received the win after tossing 6.0 innings and allowing just one run (earned) on five hits. Christian Kercado (1) threw 3.0 innings on the mound and yielded one run (earned) on two hits to register his first save of the season.

Wildeboer was 2 for 4 at the plate and was the lone Monarch with a multiple hits.
Brennen Brown and Cass each drew two walks in the loss.

Methodist returns to action on Tuesday, March 14, against Lancaster Bible beginning at 3 pm.
