Monti Hendrix and
Madison Ronelli scored four goals apiece and the Methodist women's lacrosse team cruised past LaGrange, 20-5, on Sunday afternoon at Monarch Stadium.

The Monarchs improved to 7-6 on the season and 4-1 in conference play, while the Panthers slipped to 3-6 overall and 0-4 in the USA South.

The Monarchs outshot the Panthers 46-14, including 32-8 in shots on goal, while also forcing 21 turnovers in a dominating performance. MU won 17 of 27 draw controls, held the Panthers to seven clears in 16 attempts and had 23 ground balls to LC's 14.

Three goals in a span of 2:42 early in the first half gave MU a 3-0 lead before the Panthers tallied their first goal at the 19:21 mark for a 3-1 game. With the lead still at two (4-2), Methodist closed the first half on a 5-1 to take a 9-3 lead into halftime.
Renee Burt and Hendrix scored 13 seconds apart for the final two goals of the first half.

In the second half, the Panthers' Madeline LaCavera scored first, but MU answered with four straight goals, including two from Ronelli, to extend its lead to 13-4 with 23:01 to play. LC scored once more, before the Green and Gold closed out the contest with seven consecutive goals.

Burt led MU with five points on three goals and two assists and
Kaelyn Holland added a goal with four assists.
Emily Brennen scored three times and
Tori Manahan scored two goals. Hendrix also had a game-high eight draw controls.
Sarah Ewin caused five turnovers and picked up four ground balls. In addition to her four goals, Ronelli added three caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Janelle Gant picked up the win in the cage, playing the first half and allowing three goals with two saves.
Molly O'Hara played the second half and made one save with two goals allowed.

Methodist has one game remaining before the conference tournament. The Monarchs play at Piedmont on Saturday beginning at 12:00 pm.
