SALEM, Va. -- Five different players recorded at least 10 kills as the Methodist volleyball team battled back to defeat Roanoke, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Cregger Center.
 
Brittany Ter Meer and Ashley Beardsley each had a team-high 16 kills as MU (6-4) rallied from down 2-1 for a 20-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 15-12 win over the Maroons (6-6).
 
Beardsley's 16 kills cam on 34 swings with just two errors for a hitting percentage of .412, while Ter Meer hit .367 on 30 attempts. Jasmine Tapscott was one of three Monarchs with 10 kills and she hit .471 for the match. Cassidy Hayes and Chyenne Pump each 10 kills as well.
 
Beardsley and Pump added 19 and 13 digs, respectively, to complete double-doubles, while Maggie Harris had 54 assists and 10 digs in the win.
 
Annabelle Ronelli led the defense with 21 digs. Ter Meer and Hayes each had four blocks, and Tapscott and Harris had three apiece.
 
For Roanoke, Kylah Blackmore posted a match-high 21 kills, and Sydney Daniel added 14. Blackmore also registered 18 digs, while Ryan Hedgepeth had a team-best 23 digs. Caitlin Sharkey had four service aces.
 
Methodist plays at Salem on Thursday at 7 pm.
