Records: Methodist 6-5-2 overall (3-3-2 USA South); Greensboro 11-2 (8-1)
Location: Pride Field; Greensboro, N.C.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first half, there were only seven combined shots with only two shots on target -- both coming from the Pride.
- Greensboro scored on the first shot taken in the second half, which came eight minutes into the period. Jordy Briceno scored his eight goal of the season off an assist from Carlos Barragan.
- Nick Bryant scored off of a crazy corner kick sequence that saw the Pride's goalkeeper Elmer Martinez earn a save and then give up the goal right afterwards.
- The best chance for the Monarchs to break the 1-1 tie was in the 78th minute. Garrett Shan and Lawson Lamm put up shots on target within five seconds of each other but Martinez was able to pick up the save both times.
- The substitutions the Pride made worked as Darli Mihindou scored the game winning goal ten minutes after he was subbed back into the game. Briceno was only on the pitch for about five minutes before he earned an assist on the goal.
- Methodist was outshot 10-7 in shots and for shots on target, 7-4.
