MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Methodist women's lacrosse team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 22-4 win over Huntingdon on Saturday afternoon at Samford Stadium.

Monti Hendrix (5g/2a) and
Madison Ronelli (6g/1a) each scored seven points for the Monarchs and seven different players scored at least one goal as MU put up 20+ goals for the second consecutive game.

The Monarchs (3-1, 2-0 USA South) needed just three minutes to open up a 3-0 lead, getting goals from Hendrix, Sydney Bonner and Ronelli in the game's opening moments. Moy Chen made it 4-0 at 26:33 before the Hawks (0-3, 0-2) got on the board when Carolyn Smith scored off a feed from Trinity McManus at 25:34.

For straight scores by MU, including two more from Ronelli, pushed the MU lead to 8-1 with not even 10 minutes elapsed in the contest.

After taking a 12-2 lead into the break, the Hawks scored two the second half's first four goals before MU closed out the game with eight straight markers for the 22-4 final.

Methodist dominated the stat sheet, out-shooting HC, 43-11, forcing 25 turnovers while committing just 10, and winning 15 draw controls to Huntingdon's 13. The Monarchs were also 11 of 12 in the clearing game, while Huntingdon was successful on just 6 of 22 clears.

Molly O'Hara picked up her third win in the cage, making five saves against four goals allowed. Meranda Florez made 13 saves for the Hawks.

Hendrix added eight draw controls, three caused turnovers and four ground balls to her seven points. Ronelli chipped in four draw controls, four caused turnovers and five ground balls. Bonner scored four goals,
Sarah Ewin added three, with three draw controls and three ground balls.

For the Hawks, McManus and Shelby Martin each had a goal and an assist. Martin also had five draw controls, and Ali Brewer added four draw controls.
