RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Menthodist women's tennis team picked up its sixth shutout of the season as it moved past William Peace 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, the Monarchs sit at 13-5 on the year behind a 5-0 mark in conference matches, while the Pacers drop to 0-9 overall.
In doubles, the team of
Jenna Landis and
Han Le defeated Haley Hinton and Cadie Gundlach, 8-0, at the first position, while
Allison Himes and
Casey Carroll blanked Manessah Fox and Ameera Khattab 8-0.
Ashton Walker and
Laura Brown tallied a default win at third doubles to finish the 3-0 sweep.
The two sides played eight-game pro sets in singles in order to finish before inclement weather. Walker picked up an 8-1 win over Fox at first singles, while
Davi Barbour defeated Gundlach 8-0 at the second slot. Landis and Brown also recorded 8-0 wins at third and fourth singles, respectively. Himes and Le were slotted at the fifth and singles positions for default wins.
Methodist returns to the courts Friday, March 30, at 1 pm at Greensboro.
