FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Pfeiffer's Molly O'Friel scored 12 goals in leading the Falcons to a 19-7 win over the Methodist women's lacrosse team on Tuesday afternoon at Monarch Stadium.

Methodist now stands a 5-7 on the season while Pfeiffer improved to 10-1 with the win.

Madison Ronelli stuck first for MU, giving the Monarchs are 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest. The Falcons answered with four straight goals, including three from O'Friel to go in front 4-1 by the 22:35 mark.

Monti Hendrix scored at 20:35 to make it 4-2 and keep the Monarchs close, but Pfeiffer, again, rattled off four goals in succession to assume an 8-2 lead by the 11:20 mark.

Kaelyn Holland scored off a feed from
Sarah Ewin to make it 8-3 before O'Friel netted two more tallies to push the visitors to a 10-3 lead with 2:42 on the clock. Ronelli scored for MU at the 2:06 mark to make it a six-goal game (10-4), but O'Friel netted one more goal with six seconds remaining in the half for an 11-4 score at recess.

The Falcons outscored MU 8-3 in the second half as the Monarchs' offense was unable to mount a sustained rally.

Molly O'Hara made 15 saves in the cage for the Monarchs, while Sam Hanlon stopped six shots for the Falcons.

For the game, Pfeiffer outshot MU 41-20 and forced 33 turnovers while committing just 22. The Falcons had a 31-19 edge in ground balls and converted 20 of 23 clears.

Ronelli led MU with three goals and added five draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Hendrix scored twice, picked up five draw controls and added five ground balls.

Methodist is back on the field next Tuesday at N.C. Wesleyan beginning at 4 pm.
