Women's Tennis Blanks Panthers, 9-0

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Methodist women's tennis team picked up its third straight win in a 9-0 win against Ferrum at the Gene Clayton Courts on Saturday.
 
With the win, the Monarchs are now 15-5 overall and sit at a perfect 6-0 in league play. Meanwhile, the Panthers are 6-7 on the year behind a 3-3 mark in conference action.
 
In doubles play, the team of Ashton Walker and Audrey Greeson started the day with an 8-0 win against Jordan Thompson and Vicki Meza at the third slot. Jenna Landis and Han Le completed an 8-0 sweep of Morgan Scott and Alexandria Dixon at the top flight before Davi Barbour and Taylor Jackson finished the doubles sweep with an 8-1 count against Alexandria White and Autum Murray-Burns.
 
Landis blanked Dixon, 6-0, 6-0, at the third slot to start off singles play, while Barbour knocked off White 6-0, 6-0 at the second position. Le moved past Murray-Burns, 6-0 6-0 at fourth singles before Walker completed a 6-1, 6-0 win against Scott at the top spot. Aly Andrews earned a 6-0, 6-1 win against Nikeyra Lee at No. 6 singles and Greeson finished the day with a 6-2, 6-1 win against Thompson to complete the match sweep.
 
Methodist returns to action on Wednesday April 4, with a match-up of the top two teams in the East against N.C. Wesleyan beginning at 3 pm.
