LaGRANGE, Ga. -- The Methodist women's tennis team defeated Huntingdon, 8-1, in the semifinals of the USA South Tournament on Saturday morning.
The Monarchs look to capture their 10th conference tournament championship and second straight league title and will play N.C. Wesleyan in the final, which is scheduled to be played Sunday, April 15.
Against Huntingdon, the team of
Ashton Walker and
Audrey Greeson defeated Kacy Howard and Clayton Waring, 8-3, at the third doubles spot, while
Davi Barbour and
Taylor Jackson dropped Caroline McBroom and Heather Tabor, 8-2, in the second spot.
Jenna Landis and
Han Le completed the doubles sweep with an 8-6 count against Zoya Robinson and Josie Waddell at No. 1 doubles.
In singles play, Walker dropped Howard, 6-0, 6-1, at the first position, while Le moved by Waring, 6-0, 6-1.
Davi Barbour defeated Waddell, 6-1, 6-1, at second singles before Landis earned a 6-4, 6-4 win at the third spot.
Laura Brown picked up the final win of the match with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 win against Heather Tabor.
