MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- THe Methodist men's tennis team picked up a 5-4 win against Pfeiffer in non-conference action Friday night.
With the win, the Monarchs improve to 11-7 on the season, while the Falcons fall to 12-3 and see their five-match winning streak come to an end.
In doubles play, the team of
Jacob Oehser and
Reid Rose fought to a 9-8 win against Raul Rui and Thomas Hubble at the top flight. The pairing of
Wynn Johnson and
Kayhahn Alikhani defeated Trey Speight and Eduan Louw, 8-3, at the third slot, but the Falcons won at the second slot as Bjorn Barwinski and David Weir defeated
Coleman Baker and
Trent Harner, 8-1.
RJ Clement earned a 7-5, 6-4 win at the top singles flight, while Johnson tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win at the fifth slot.
Hayden Wilfong recorded the fifth and final win for the Monarchs at the sixth slot with a 6-0, 6-3 count against Ethan Elliott.
Methodist's newly-scheduled match with the College of Charleston on April 7, has been postponed. The Monarchs return to the courts on Sunday, April 8, against William Peace at home beginning at 11 am.
