FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 win against William Peace on Sunday.
The Monarchs move to 12-7 on the season behind a 7-3 mark in league play. Meanwhile, the Pacers drop to 6-11 overall and 3-7 in conference matches.
in doubles, the team of
Jacob Oehser and
Reid Rose defeated Dylan Betancourt and Patrick Ralph, 8-2, at the top spot. RJ Clement and
David Hopkins earned an 8-4 win at the second slot, while
Wynn Johnson and
Kayhahn Alikhani closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-0 win.
In singles play. Clement earned a 6-3, 6-4 win against Betancourt at the top flight.
Coleman Baker played to a 6-1, 6-0 win against Ralph at the second slot, while Rose tallied a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Trent Harner defeated Daniel Carter 6-0, 6-1 while Johnson earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at the fifth position. Hopkins finished the day with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the sixth slot.
Methodist returns to action on Wednesday, April 11, against Guilford before heading to LaGrange, Ga. for the USA South Men's Tennis Tournament.
