WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Methodist women's tennis team captured the East Division regular season championship in the USA South with a 9-0 win against Salem on Sunday afternoon.

The Monarchs earn the No. 1 seed in the East for the USA South Tournament that begins later this week.
In doubles play,
Jenna Landis and
Han Le earned an 8-0 win against Makenna Mason and Lindsay Young, while
Davi Barbour and
Taylor Jackson defeated Abigail Williams and Grace Wilson, 8-3. At the third doubles flight,
Ashton Walker and
Audrey Greeson dropped Lauren Holman and Carmen Wilkins, 8-3.
Walker earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at the top singles spot, while Barbour, Landis and
Laura Brown all blanked their opponents, 6-0, 6-0.
Allison Himes picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win against Wilson , while Le also registered a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win.
Methodist begins play in the USA South Tournament with a 10 am match against the No. 4 seed in the West, Agnes Scott, on Friday, April 13.
