ASHLAND, Va. Playing the final game of its non-conference slate this season, Methodist women's soccer made a trip to Randolph-Macon College Wednesday afternoon. However, it was the host Yellow Jackets that came away with a 4-1 win over the visiting Monarchs.
Miranda Gay scored in the 77th minute -- her team-leading third goal of the season -- with an assist from
Aiden Sherry to break up a potential Randolph-Macon clean sheet. Gay sent a beautiful rainbow shot over the keeper's head and the ball hit the right post and careened left for her third goal of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Randolph-Macon put up 13 shots in the first half but only four were target. Unfortunately for the Monarchs, Meghan Skevington made one count with a goal in the 17th minute. Skevington capitalized on the chaos that follows a corner kick.
- Skevington scored her second goal in the 49th minute with a header and the Yellow Jackets scored two more goals (three total) in the span of six minutes in the second half to put the game out of reach.
STAT FACTS
- The Monarchs did manage to convert their lone shot on target into a goal. They took four shots total in the game. Gay had a team-high two shots.
- Mary Newman had four saves in the game.
- For the Yellow Jackets, Nelson had a hand (or should I say, foot) in every goal scored in the game. She had three assists and scored a goal herself.
