MT. PLEASANT, S.C.  Division I College of Charleston earned a 7-0 victory Saturday against the visiting D-III Monarchs in non-conference men's tennis action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Though the Cougars did record the shutout victory, two matches in particular could have swung in the Monarchs' favor.
• The 3-doubles tandem of AJ Rogers and E.J. Stolmeijer pushed their Charleston foes to the limit, falling in the match tiebreaker (7-2) after squaring the match at 6-6.
• At No. 1 singles it was Trent Harner providing the push back, extending the Cougars' top player, Ben Cawston, into a third set.
• Harner broke out in front with a 6-3 opening-set victory, but Cawston responded with a second-set win by the same score to even the match.
• The third-set super-tiebreaker tilted Cawston's way, 10-6, to allow the Cougar to avoid the upset bid of Harner.
