Final score: Mary Baldwin def. Methodist, 2-1

Location: SMA Worth Field; Staunton, Virginia
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist got on the board first in the 17th minute. The score came off a corner kick opportunity for the Monarchs.
- Christopher Shoffler was sent to take the near side corner. Shoffler would than cross that kick to the far side goal post where Allen was able to settle the ball before getting it past the keepers' left.
- The Fighting Squirrels did not like that they were down 1-0 at the start of the second half. They responded by netting the equalizer 10 minutes into the half.
- With momentum seeming to swing in favor of Mary Baldwin, they were able to score the game-winner in the 76th minute.
- Methodist did get off three more shots before the end of the game to try to tie it, but could not score as time expired.
NUMBERS
- Even though both sides finished with 13 total shot, six of which were on goal, it was a tale of two halves on shots. The Monarchs had more shots than the Fighting Squirrels, 9 to 2, in the first half before being outshot 11 to 4 in the second.
- Methodist's success in the two halves was in large part due to them possessing the ball. This is shown in the corner kick chances with six in the first and only two in the second.
- Allen and Shoffler were the only two Monarchs to register a shot on goal, with a game-high five by Shoffler.
