CHARLOTTE, N.C. Methodist men's basketball dropped an 82-71 road non-conference game versus Johnson & Wales of Charlotte in the Wildcat Center on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scoring first were the Wildcats who put up the first six points. Chris George would knock down the first three Monarch points, via a free throw and jumper. Johnson & Wales than put up the next seven consecutive points to bring their lead to 13-3.
- Methodist eventually went on their own 7-0 run to bring the deficit within three, 18-15. The final eight minutes of the first half was something the Monarchs would like to forget. Methodist were outscored by the Wildcats by a margin of 18-1.
- The second half started with Johnson & Wales scoring the first four points in push their advantage to 22. Methodist cut into the lead slightly by scoring the next five points, in which Dante Burden scored four of those points. Later in a three and half minute span, Clayton Coe started an 11-0 to get the Monarchs back to being ten points behind 44-34.
- A made free throw ended an almost four minute scoring drought for the Wildcats, which in turn saw them add on an additional five points. Kevin McLaughlin Jr. brought Methodist back to within ten points, 60-50, again after a made three with seven minutes left in the second half.
- The closest the Monarchs got to Johnson & Wales lead was nine with 52 seconds left in the contest, when McLaughlin Jr. stole the ball for a layup to bring the score to 78-69.

- In a tale of two halves, Methodist shot exceptionally better in the second half than the first. The second saw the Monarchs make 17 of their 39 shots for 43.6%, while they shot 25% (6-24) in the first.
- Four different Methodist players scored double-digits in the game, with McLaughlin having a team-high 22 points.
- The Wildcats out rebound the Monarchs by a slight margin of 37-34.
