HOW IT HAPPENED
- In Game 1, a Sara Darling double scored Liz Schmitz to give Methodist a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. The Monarchs' lead was brief as Greensboro scored three runs off of four hits in the top of the third.
- Methodist had a final chance to force extra innings in the seventh but the game ended with Brittany Jones (pinch running for Schmitz) on second and Darling at first.
- In Game 2, the Monarchs' chance to tie was the batter on deck as Methodist left the seventh inning with the bases loaded. Heather Tsapp doubled to lead off the inning and Taylor Jones followed up with a single. With no outs, a Kaley Evans' walk loaded the bases but Methodist was unable to cross any runs home.
- The nightcap was a 0-0 game for three innings before the Pride broke open the game with three runs in the fourth inning and another three runs over the next two frames.
- Methodist finally got on the board in the second game with two runs in the sixth inning. The inning began with an Evans double followed by a Schmitz single. Darling walked to load the bases. Evans scored off of an error and Jones (again pinch running) scored from a Haley Potter single.
- Darling had a hit and walk in Game 1 and two walks in the second game. Taylor Jones had two walks in Game 2 and Evans had two walks and a hit.
