MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. Day 1 of the two-day 2021 Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational brought out several personal bests (PRs) from Methodist track & field athletes, the finest of which was
Makayla Lawler's second-place finish in the women's 5,000-meter run.
Lawler posted a time, 17 minutes, 54.78 seconds, that shattered the previous school record (18:10.43,
Kristyn Zeiler, 2011) by nearly 16 seconds.

The Monarch men registered the other PRs on Friday:
