MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. The Methodist track and field teams were back in action on Saturday at the 9th Annual Adidas Trojan Challenge hosted by the University of Mount Olive. The Monarchs showcased their talent versus teams across NCAA Division I, II and III.

TOP TRACK PERFORMANCES
- Topping the previous program record in the men's 100-meter dash, Logan Wade clocked in at 10.49 seconds in the prelims, claiming third out of 38 sprinters. His mark breaks Michael Hill's 10.51, which has been the program's top time since 2009.
- Finishing just behind Wade in fourth, Tydrick Stewart crossed the line at 10.64 seconds. The duo took third and fourth again in the finals. Stewart also competed in the 200-meter dash, setting a personal best time of 21.83 seconds, which earned him sixth out of 23 competitors.
- In the women's 100-meter dash, Leilani Rankin captured ninth place in the prelims out of 26 runners with a season-best time of 12.59 seconds. She also set a season-best in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a time of 25.75.
- Earning seventh place in the women's 200-meter dash was Treazure Rosario Watson, who recorded a time of 25.75 seconds. She also set a personal best in the 100-meter dash, clocking a 12.80 for 13th place.
- Rafael Shilengitha claimed fifth place out of 13 runners in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.08.
TOP FIELD PERFORMANCES
- Sanaia Hill set a new personal record in the women's long jump, claiming eighth out of 14 jumpers with a mark of 4.61 meters. In the women's high jump, Kayleen Grullon matched her career best, clearing a height of 1.45 meters.
- With a mark of 13.74 in the men's triple jump, Kamren Jenkins sixth place out of 15 jumpers. Jeremiah Freeman took seventh out of 17 athletes in the men's long jump, leaping a distance of 6.39 meters.
- Laila Johnson set her new best in the women's discus throw with a distance of 13.51 meters. In women's javelin, Caidyn Barriger captured eighth out of 14 throwers with a mark of 21.53 meters.
- Kaleb Nelson finished top 20 in the men's shot put and discus throw events, and took fourth place out of 10 in the javelin throw with a mark of 43.27 meters. Messiah Fields and Tristan Bowser were right behind Nelson in the javelin competition with throws of 40.26 meters and 39.39 meters respectively.
