Monarch Men Capture 2026 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship

WESTMINSTER, Md.  The Methodist men's track & field team claimed the 2026 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday, totaling 168.5 points at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium on the campus of McDaniel College. Selected members of the Methodist women's track & field team also competed during the championship meet.

Leading the way for the Monarchs was junior Logan Wade, who earned the Most Outstanding Male Performer honors after winning both the 100-meter and 200-meter races while also anchoring Methodist's first-place 4x100-meter relay team.

TOP TRACK PERFORMANCES
  • Methodist's sprinters powered the men's team title effort, combining for 67 points across the 100m, 110m hurdles, 200m, and 4x100m relay events.
  • After sweeping the top three spots in the 100-meter preliminaries, Wade, junior Tydrick Stewart, and freshman Greg Cuthberston repeated the feat in the finals. Wade crossed the line first in 10.52 seconds, followed by Stewart at 10.62 and Cuthberston at 10.88.
  • Freshman J'Quez Jackson and sophomore Johnathan Bordeaux both qualified for the finals of the 110-meter hurdles after placing among the top six in preliminaries. Jackson went on to win the event in 15.34 seconds, while Bordeaux finished fourth with a personal-best time of 16.64.
  • Wade added another individual title in the 200m, clocking a personal-best 21.67. Cuthberston also posted a personal best in the event, placing second in 22.03.
  • The Monarchs' 4x100-meter relay squad of Cuthberston, Stewart, Wade, and junior David Dennis captured first place with a season-best time of 41.13.
  • On the women's side, sophomore D'zariya Parran and freshman Leilani Rankin both advanced to the finals of the 100m, placing seventh and eighth with times of 12.81 and 13.05, respectively. Sophomore Sanaia Hill recorded a personal-best 26.03 in the 200m to finish fifth, while senior Treazure Rosario Watson earned a runner-up finish in the 400m with a time of 58.21.
  • Hill, Rankin, Rosario Watson, and Parran teamed up to win the women's 4x100-meter relay in 49.14.
  • Jackson and Bordeaux also competed in the men's 400-meter hurdles. Jackson placed third with a personal-best time of 58.99, while Bordeaux added another personal record at 1:06.69. Junior Richard Schieferstein scored for the Monarchs in the men's 400m, finishing eighth in a season-best 51.56.
TOP FIELD PERFORMANCES
  • Methodist's jumpers added another major boost to the men's championship effort, totaling 62.5 points across the long jump, high jump, and triple jump.
  • The Monarchs dominated the long jump competition, with all five competitors placing inside the top six. Senior Jeremiah Freeman and Dennis shared first-place honors after each cleared 6.55 meters. Senior Lavon Aiken finished fourth at 6.38m, senior Jarius Fajardo placed fifth at 6.34m, and freshman Kamren Jenkins came in sixth with a leap of 6.21m.
  • Fajardo added another title in the high jump after clearing 2.00 meters. Jackson and Jenkins also scored in the event after each successfully clearing 1.88m, which marked a personal best for Jenkins.
  • Jenkins secured first place in the triple jump with a leap of 14.06m, while Dennis placed third with a season-best mark of 13.54m.
  • For the women, Hill and sophomore Kayleen Grullon placed fifth and sixth in the long jump with marks of 4.54m and 4.50m, respectively. Grullon also posted a personal-best 1.48m in the high jump to finish fourth.
  • Among the throwers, junior Tristen Bowser and freshman Kaleb Nelson delivered strong performances. Bowser placed fourth in both the discus (40.41m) and javelin (46.23m), while Nelson finished second in the javelin at 48.43m, fourth in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 12.84m, and eighth in the discus at 38.09m.
  • Freshman Messiah Fields placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 40.97m, while senior Andrew Schienebeck finished 12th at 36.31m. In the hammer throw, freshman Noah Daughtrey recorded a personal-best mark of 31.35m.
NEXT UP
Methodist will now await the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship selections on Friday, May 15, to determine if any Monarchs qualify for the national meet.
