HOW IT HAPPENED

Leading 21-14, Huntingdon burned nearly nine minutes of game clock with a 20-play drive that resulted in a 25-yard field goal for the 10-point advantage. The drive was exclusively all run plays and it featured two fourth-down conversions, including a 4th-and-6 at the Monarchs' 27-yard line.
- On the next Methodist possession, the Monarchs turned the ball over on downs in their own territory and the Hawks' quarterback Landon Cotney rushed for a 26-yard touchdown to effectively seal the deal. With 10 ticks remaining, Brandon Bullins found AJ Cooper for a seven-yard touchdown for the game's final score of 31-20.

- Cotney had a pair of touchdowns through the ground in the first quarter, scoring on consecutive drives for a 14-7 Hawks' lead. His scores were the finishing touches of seven-play drives. His first score was set up by a 43-yard completion to the Monarchs' 10-yard line.
- After a Methodist turnover-on-downs on its first possession in the second half, Huntingdon countered with a 12-play, 69-yard drive for a touchdown to take the lead with 5:48 on the clock in the third. The Hawks converted a 3rd-and-2 and a 4th-and-1 on that drive before Jalen Pugh punched it in from a yard out.
